I stopped a couple chapters in for a couple of reasons.1. If you have sex and the next day you receive a flower delivery on what universe would you think are they from an ex you haven’t seen in a year.
2. The author made her extremely insecure about her body. A point that was made a lot. There is no way on a third date would she suggest they go skinny dipping at a public beach then have sex in public.
At that point I checked the authors name because it sounded like a man wrote this story.

Take A Chance On Me A Single Father Romance edition by Weston Parker Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Good book and new to this author. I love second chance books. And single fathers they are so sweet and sexy and so alpha. But I really didn't like tiffany as much I mean i understand where she was c0ming from I been in her shoes and being a plus size is hard some times, but she was doing to much for my liking. I love Caydan he is amazing and I love what he was trying and Austin such a sweet little guy inlove hin so much.
For a first time effort into a main character with some solid insecurities, this was a solid effort.
It gave a decent reason for the lack of body image (weight gain after a parent's death and abusive ex) along with a solid reason for lack of self worth (emotionally abusive and manipulative parent and a fiancee that slammed into her on a regular basis why she wasn't enough).
Tiff, while overly attached to her ex (some of her responses weren't typical - even of someone with low or non existent self worth) was very typical in the "was it a joke" and "he doesn't really mean it" mentality.
It was nice seeing her get her HEA and start to feel more comfotable in her skin.
There were some grammatical issues that almost seemed like a "replace all" issue in Word.
Overall, solid first attempt at ths theme.
I loved this book and while I was happy with the way it ended, I was sad that I had to say goodbye to these great characters! I stayed up well past midnight to finish this, I just had to know what happened. The character development is great and Weston knocked it out of the park again. If you're looking for a cute, holiday romance, I highly recommend this!
I hate to do this. I hate that I am reviewing this so low. I love this author.
I did not like Tiffany. At all. She was a pathetic little girl who had no backbone. She went on a date with her ex and didn't tell Cayden. To this author's credit there is no cheating. She wasn't going to tell him. That seriously bothers me. All she had to do was tell him. Instead she lied. How did she head a support group? That was way to the extreme. I'm just not feeling it.
As for Cayden. I liked him. But he was kind of a pushover. I think he should have spent more time with his son (Austin). I think Cayden passed Austin off onto Alice (Cayden's mother) too much.
I'm not 100% convinced that Tiffany and Cayden should be together. They were just missing that something.
Cayden is a single father, having lost his wife when his son was still a baby. His ongoing thoughtfulness and continued patience with Tiffany was displayed in sweet believable ways. Cayden was just a good guy, and a very relatable character, the kind of man every women dreams of meeting.
Tiffany is a beautiful curvey women with deep insecurities rooted from a past relationship. Her character is one most women can empathize with as we all have things about ourselves that are hard to accept and like. Though this is a romance, her growth and eventual love of herself is the highlight of this book for me.
The only change I would make is in the love scenes. I'm a lover of steamy scenes, which these were, but there was some noticeable moments where the characters went from be apprehensive and unsure of one another to having sex. It tended to seem a little thrown in there.
Plot - 4/5

Overall - 4/5
Typically, Weston Parker's books are my favorite read but something was just off on this one. I don't think I have ever rated one of Weston's books less than 4.5-Stars but can't rate Take A Chance On Me more than 3.5-4-Stars. Whatever bothered me about this one, I can't quite identify but it did it didn't go away throughout the whole book and I guess in the end I just felt I couldn't connect & ultimately get into the story which is so not typical for me with Weston Parker books. However, I still would recommend one-clicking and reading this one for yourself. After all, it could turn into your favorite read.....plus, who doesn't like reading Weston's books, I still wouldn't miss a book of his, even one that doesn't quite hit the mark for me personally. Take A Chance & don't miss reading Take A Chance on Me!
While I did receive an ARC from the author, I also purchased this book & am voluntarily leaving my voluntary review.
No character development. The h goes from pathetic to confident to pathetic in 2 breaths. Did not connect with any of the characters. The flow was slow, then too fast then slow. Whrn there was dialogue it was bad and the rest was just s3x scenes which was not great either
Just no.
